View Full Version : Help HM stopped working!

Hello,
HM stopped working because of a database error.
So i tried to reinstall postgres. But the installer hangs everytime in the final step: Creating uninstall file. It looks like, when i reboot that postgres is installed but i cant get it to work! Tried 2 different versions!
The postgresql-8.4 - PostgreSQL Server 8.4 service is starting and wont start. I deleted everything before the new installs, even in the registry and i deleted the postgres user. UAC is off. Made user postgres an admin, and edited host file.
Anyone got an idea?

Turn on the secondary Logon. The secondary logon service is a standard windows service which is available on every windows computer. In the latest versions it is not started automatically. You need to start it via control panel > administrative tools > services. Starting it once should insure it works in the future also.

OK,
But how is it possible that the Postgres installation hangs on the end of every installation? I also dont get the stackbuilder and the end.

Can be a firewall, virusscanner, other security software. Disabled windows services on your computer .....

Enabled second login service and changed to automatic. Then i installed 8.2, and in the install it says it can't start the service.

What sort of changes did you make to the hosts file?
Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?
Run a manual Windows Update and install all updates, including all .net framework updates.

I reinstalled windows yesterday. Hope i can fix it now.
