I've been having major problems with my HM for a while now. I basically gave up, gave poker a bit of a rest. But now I want to start up again and am determined to completely reinstall my postgres and HoldemManager (seems the easiest way to do things). First of all, can someone please direct me to where I can find instructions to complete uninstall and then reinstall the programs?

I also want to share one database between two computers. Can anyone also direct me to where I can find this?

If I'm using the combo installer the FAQ I was directed to before surely cannot be right: FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: How do I setup Holdem Manager to share one database between two computers? (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/336/How+do+I+setup+Holdem+Manager+to+share+one+databas e+between+two+computers%3F) as these screens don't pop up during the installation process.

I suppose I am just missing something very stupid - can anyone point it out to me?

There no real reason to uninstall anything, just install the latest version: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe and create a new database FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Create / Delete Database (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/75/Create+%7B47%7D+Delete+Database) and that will basically be a fresh start with no stats, fast empty database and it should work fine

Thank you. Most recent updates installed. However, how do I connect the database between the two drives? I have tried what I thought were the correct steps to link the two, but it hasn't worked.

Can anyone tell me the correct way to share the database between the two computers?

You could do this
FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Run PostgreSQL Over a Network (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/90/Run+PostgreSQL+Over+a+Network+)

Or this
FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: How do I setup Holdem Manager to share one database between two computers? (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/336/How+do+I+setup+Holdem+Manager+to+share+one+databas e+between+two+computers%3F)

Thank you for the reply. However:

I am using Postgres8.4, and the new combo installer. I download the installer, then run it. It runs through its installation process, then says 'Complete."

In the FAQ you provided a link to, under step A, it says: "Start the PostgreSQL Installation until you get to this stage" and has a screenshot of the installation options. This does not come up when I installed the new software. At all.

So does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Is it even installing Postgres? (though it must be, as before I deleted absolutely everything on my computer that I could find that was postgres or HM related, and then downloaded the newer version. So how can I share a db with the new version?

Your probably using the combo installer, we made a dumbed down version that configures all the default options automatically, youll need to download one of the postgres versions from here and it will show those screens

Try this version PostgreSQL: File Browser (http://www.postgresql.org/ftp/binary/v8.3.7/win32/)

Its the 24.8mb one

Ta very much, finally got the program working on both computers, and the database shared between the two.

Started downloading all my files again... A few of them are quite large... After the third one, I'm now having problems with the downloads, they are just coming up as Import Errors. I copy-and-pasted all files into smaller ones, but it's still doing the same thing...

Any ideas??
