So I just got a new PC.

On my old PC I had HEM and Postgre installed on one drive and the DB on another(internal).

I have since moved that internal drive from the OLD PC to the new PC without backing up the HEM DB.

Since the HD with my current DB is now in my new PC is there a way to just tell HEM to just use that DB? Or do I have to take the HD out of the new PC and put it into the old one, back up the DB and then move it across?

Oh and I cant start up HEM on my old PC to get the rego code off it. Just send an email?

You could try this

FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Move Database to Another Hard Drive or Partition (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/368/Move+Database+to+Another+Hard+Drive+or+Partition)

It usually requires you to edit the permissions of the data folder too before connecting and setting all the users in their to have full permission

What if I just move the contents of the data file that is on the E drive to the data file on the C drive(thats where HEM is looking for the DB) as I would rather have them on the same drive now.

It may be a diff version of Postgre. Does that matter?

What you are trying to do is posgresql related, it has nothing to do with HM.

You can try to copy the postgresql data folder before installing postgresql (but you must use the same postgresql version as on your old computer):
