I am trying to reinstall HEM on a new computer that has a dedicated hard drive for the postgres database. The problem is that HEM installs postgres to the C: drive automatically, even if I select a different drive for HEM itself. Once HEM is installed following the Move Database to Another Hard Drive or Partition (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/368/Move+Database+to+Another+Hard+Drive+or+Partition) entry in the FAQ leaves me unable to restart the postgres service.

Also would installing the HEM program on a SSD drive increase performance measurably if the database is on a regular drive?

You need to install postgresql before installing HEM. Download and install it from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database (http://www.postgresql.org).
During the HEM installation deactivate the Postgresql part.

The database on a SSD drive will have a much higher performance than on a standard HDD.
