I just upgraded my computer's OS to Vista - installed postsql along with 1.06.03h.

When I open the database management window - my old databases that have been backed up are no where to be found - how can I have HM locate them?

Thanks!

i tried restoring the backup files and received this msg:

"player hand error:error:25p02: current transactino is aborted, commands ignored until end of transactino block. please email suport and let us know what version of postgresql you are running"

i am running postgresql 8.3

Please try this:

To restore the database you need to create the following set of folders:

C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\PostgreSQL8.x\Data

Now replace PostgreSQL8.x with the version of postgreSQL your installing most likely 8.2 or 8.3

Then copy the contents of C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\PostgreSQL8.x\Data on your old hard drive to the folder you created above on the new drive

Then install PostgreSQL on the default path which is C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL but when you get to the screen where it asks for the password the 2nd time untick the "Initialise database Cluster" tickbox and then finish the installation.

i replaced all of the files from the "data" fold in my old computer - however I have a new problem - when i start HM i am given the following msgs:

"the following error occurred when trying to open the db: failed to establish a connection to 127.0.0.1"

after clicking ok, i am taken to the db control panel where i clicked on "connect." i then get the following errors.

"a connection to POSTGRESQL could not be made. would you like to have HM attempt to start the service"

the next dialogue box says "sorry, HM was unable to start the service"

still no luck.

i have tried running HM as an administrator
i have disabled my firewall
i have attempted to start postgresql as a service manually

none have solved the problem.

i also have also tried to completely uninstall postgresl and reinstall it without success.

any other suggestions?

thanks!

Uninstall HM and then install the full setup guide from www.holdemmanager.net and then update to http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdate1.06.03h.exe and it should be fine
