Cannot install Postgre SQL

I used the combo installer and I get an error message "sorry, cannot install Postgre SQL". What do I do?

If our installer fails please try to download and install Postgresql from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database (http://www.postgresql.org).

Start with version 8.4. I that doesn't work try 8.3 because we experienced that on some computers 8.4 fails on others 8.3.

I tried several different links to install postgresql and nothing works. Since those pages are an incredibly disorganized mess with nothing but lists of guesses about what is wrong, and I am not a computer expert, and I paid money for this product, how do I either get some targeted help, or a refund?
