When I start up HM Windows tells me HM does not work correctly anymore. I have the most recent beta. Can this beta be the problem? I have vista and did the admin trick. Playing without HM sucks...need help quick.

Was it running on this PC before?
Is it a licensed version or a trial version?
Is your Vista uptodate? Windows Update, Service Pack 2, Microsoft .net framework 3.5 SVP1?
Please post the exact error message and your system configuration.

It that doesn't help your HEM download maybe corrupt. Reboot your computer, clear your browser cache or use a different browser, download and install the update again.

Vista is up to date now.

Starting HM is no Problem. But when I press the start importing button, windows says that HMImport does not work anymore. HM stays active, but importing hands does not work.

What can I try? I allready deleted HM and reinstalled it.

Please give HoldemManager Administrator rights, if it doesnt already have them -

1) Go to C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager (Program Files (x86) if you have the 64bit version)
2) Rightclick the HoldemManager.exe and choose "Properties".
3) Go to the Compatibility Tab and select "Run this program as an Administrator".
4) Do the same for HMHud.exe and DBControlPanel.exe

Reinstall Microsoft .NET Framework:

1) Download and run this uninstaller - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip
2) Install this one: http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/0/e/20e90413-712f-438c-988e-fdaa79a8ac3d/dotnetfx35.exe

If none of that helps, I would suggest a clean reinstall:

FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Using Revo Uninstaller (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/126/Using+Revo+Uninstaller+)

1) Make a backup of your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder, and any other important files.
2) Uninstall HM with Revo Uninstaller Pro - Uninstall Software, Remove Programs, Solve uninstall problems (http://www.revouninstaller.com) using the Deep setting. You do not need to uninstall PostgreSQL.
3) If given the option, on the 2 following screens of Revo, remove any registry entries and leftover files.
4) Reboot your computer
5) Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Holdem_Manager_Setup.exe. You should un-check the PostgreSQL Option when running the combo installer.
6) Test if it for a while and see if it works

I did everything you told me to do and it still wont work. I keep getting the message that HMImport does not work. I changed the destination folder of the hand history, but that did not help either. HM on my desktop works fine...but on the laptop it does not. And I prefer playing on the laptop.

Do you have any other suggestions?
