Ok I've read Report Writing 101 - Part 1, invoked the all powerful search spell, and even wandered around the hitherto uncharted regions of Custom Reports but sadly my quest has been thwarted.

I've taken this

http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp243/GBUK/pos6.jpg http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp243/GBUK/posrep.jpg

and tried to adapt it to this

http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp243/GBUK/pos9.jpg http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp243/GBUK/pos9rep.jpg

</RANGES>

Which as you can see just has the effect of renaming the 1) through 6) labels and not increasing the positions listed to 9. I'm guessing there are only 6 position slots in the db and I'm trying the impossible.

Can someone help a dummy out here please?

And also I was unable to copy/paste the report lines from word, notepad or notepad++ directly into the thread, hence the screenshot, why is that?</O:p

Yeah UTG+1 AND MP+1 etc are just grouped into UTG AND MP so there is only 6 slots

Anyone else see the irony in this?

I was gonna post a few sarcastic smilies but actually not feeling particularly jovial having spent a fair bit of time researching all this, for a "shrug" type response.

Actually UTG, UTG1 & MP, from my 9 seater example, get grouped as Early,
and MP+1 & Hijack as Middle.

I'm thinking it makes a fair bit of difference to decent analysis of our stats in full table tournies, but as ^^ suggests, perhaps therein lies the "problem".

Feel myself getting a tad disappointed, no doubt as do others in this section who didn't even get a reply.

Still, with 6 (count em, not 4 or 5) developers on the team RVG is well placed to expand beyond 6-max NLHE. All our dreams should soon be answered, unless Rush II or some other wonderful form of poker jumps out of the woodwork.

Even if HM would add just one more position, that would make a big difference. Then, the positions could be defined like this:
6max MP1 MP2 CO BTN SB BB
full EP MP1 MP2 CO BTN SB BB

Full ring would then have only the first three positions grouped together as early position. Six max would not have any EP at all, but instead just MP1 and MP2.

This would make so many other things much clearer, because MP1 is always MP1, and MP2 is always MP2. But the way it is now, the positions change based on the number of players at the table. Anyone know what position is what when there are seven or eight players at the table? I sure don't.

Also, if the above method is used, then when a player opens from MP2 with a certain range of hands, that statistic would translate easily back and forth between 6max and full ring. It would be the same stat, and so the two groups of players would be speaking the same language. That is just good in so many ways.
