Whats VPIP ?
i think its the % of time your opponent put money into the pre flop (volunteraly(sp) but someone was telling me its two number example 32/28

what does this mean - is it just 2 numbers or 1 ?

It is one number. Most likely he was talking about VPIP/PFR which are often quoted together (usually with AggFactor or AggFrequency after them).

If you follow the link above, you will find this:
"Voluntarily Put $ In Pot, The SB and BB postings are not voluntary unless they add more money eg SB calling or BB calling or raising."

Each time a player puts money into the pot before the flop, VPIP goes up. It is the % of time that they put $ in the pot voluntarily.

When SB completes, VPIP goes up, and when BB checks his option, there is no change in VPIP.
