View Full Version : HEM Not Importing PS Tournament Summaries

In all of my MTT Sngs, HEM gives an odd number for the size of the tournament. I requested all of my tournament summaries from PS. They came in an HTML file. When I imported them, nothing changed. So I requested a single tournament summary. I saved it to a txt file and imported it. Then I went back to the data view and the size for that tournament is still an odd amount. Furthermore the checkbox under the column "Sum" remains unchecked. I assume that this indicates that the summary is not loaded. What am I doing wrong?

Are the summaries in english language?

Are you using latest HM version 1.10.03a?

They are in English.

I have the current version.

I have gotten the text files from email to work. But the HTML files of my summaries still do not read. Somehow I have gotten 3 of the smaller html files to read. But I still have 2 files that have over 10000 tournaments each. I have tried converting them to txt like here: http://forums.holdemmanager.com/manager-general/26804-tournament-summary-format.html

I have also cut and pasted my own summary after the format of the email summaries and it works. I suppose I could write a script to take the information from the HTML files and make a pseudo-summary that HEM will read.

It seems that HEM isn't reading long HTML files from PS.

Not sure if this belongs here but I have a similar issue. In fact I've always had this issue but never bothered to fix it. No matter what I play on Stars HEM doesnt import the tournament summary correctly. Number of entrants, finnish position etc. I always have to do it manually at the end of each session. Is this the same issue as OP and if so how can we fix it?

The thing is HM can easily calculate the correct winnings and placings if its a sng where all the players are at the same table. However with MTTs basically and 2+ table tournaments HM has no way of knowing whether there is 10 people in the tournament or 10,000 so without this info HM cant workout your position or payout or if the tournament is complete.

You can manually edit or also you can request summaries from stars, if you import this into HM it will update the results for you. Stars can email them to you, you can also request the last 200 tourney summaries via the Lobby > Requests menu.

I still haven't gotten these to import properly. I have tried creating a blank database and then importing. I have five files.

These three import properly:

All Heads up Sit & GoTournaments played by 'wickss79' (http://www.wickss.com/handhistories/All%20Heads%20up%20Sit%20&%20GoTournaments%20played%20by%20%27wickss79%27.ht m)
All RegularTournaments played by 'wickss79' (http://www.wickss.com/handhistories/All%20RegularTournaments%20played%20by%20%27wickss 79%27.htm)
Sit & GoTournaments played by 'wickss79' -until 2008 Jan 1 (http://www.wickss.com/handhistories/Sit%20&%20GoTournaments%20played%20by%20%27wickss79%27%20-until%202008%20Jan%201.htm)

These two do not import at all:
Sit & GoTournaments played by 'wickss79' 2008 jan 1 - 2009 jan 1 (http://www.wickss.com/handhistories/Sit%20&%20GoTournaments%20played%20by%20%27wickss79%27%20 2008%20%20jan%201%20-%202009%20jan%201.htm)
Sit & GoTournaments played by 'wickss79' 2009 Jan 1 - to date (http://www.wickss.com/handhistories/Sit%20&%20GoTournaments%20played%20by%20%27wickss79%27%20 2009%20Jan%201%20-%20%20to%20date.htm)

They are downloadable here:
All Tournaments played by 'wickss79'.zip (http://www.wickss.com/handhistories/All Tournaments played by 'wickss79'.zip)

How do you import them? If I start with a blank database and try to import a summary file, it says "You are importing a Poker Stars HTML summary and since these do not include a screen name you will need to attach the result to a screen name in your database." Then I click OK to choose a player, but there are no players in my database so I have to import 1 HH so that my screen name is in the database. Then I try to import the summary again. It says one file imported, 0 errors. Then I go to Tourney>Results. I find my screen name and it shows 1 tourney; the 1 HH that I imported.

You need to import the hands of the tourney before importing the summaries.

For some reason HEM didnt take in the double deuce today. I went to the HMA file and some of it is in there, tried using that and tried importing from the FTP file on the desktop but nothing is coming in?

I played the double deuce on FTP yesterday and none of the tourney info is in HEM, nothing at all. Tried to import directly from the files and folders and still nothing

I would suggest you request your hands for that day from FTP's HH request system in your My Promotions page.

I have them, some of the hands and the history is in the HM archive folder and some are still in the FTP folder but they wont actually import into HEM itself.

The hands import properly as do the summary/results. The summary file takes a few minutes to import because of the large field, but it imported properly for me, see attached.

Strange, what could I be doing wrong because I can't get them in?

can you create a new database FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Create / Delete Database (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/75/Create+%7B47%7D+Delete+Database) and reimport the hands and summaries into that and let me know if they show up correctly now?

Also make sure you install the latest version: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe if you havent already

ok I missed the most obvious thing. HEM is set to show games with 0-10000 players and the deuce usually has much more, it's been there the whole time and now I feel like a noob. Thanks for the help and sorry...

I had stars send all of my hands ever played on stars. And I started an entirely new database. Then I spent days importing all of the hands. Still when I try to load the summaries, those two largest files don't update. It says it updates, but it doesn't affect the tourneys in the database at all. There is definitely a problem with HEM here.

Next I'll try editing the HTML file and cutting out a lot to make the file smaller.

I cut the HTML files down to months or quarters and they updated almost perfectly. The problems seems to be that HEM can't process these large files. I've solved my problem, but it doesn't help other users that can't edit html.

If you find the time would it be possible for you to zip up the original and edited versions and send them to us with a link to this thread? Please zip and email the problem hand histories, with a link to this thread, to support@holdemmanager.com
