I need to transfer my HM to a new computer (windows 7) while keeping my hand history and preferences from my old PC (windows XP).
I have been reading trough the FAQ section as I could not find the user guide any longer (version 1.10.02), but honestly I am a bit lost about how to do it.
I tried to ''export all files'' but when I click connect from the database control panel I get a connection error and it does not connect.
I did backup my database plus the entire HM directory and I wonder if this is enough before getting rid of this PC.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

To be safe you should export your hands (if you don't have all hands in the hmarchive) and export the notes.

Ok so if I have all hands in the HMarchive all I need to do is just copy the directory in the new PC?

Also how can I keep my HUD preferences?

Thank you.

If your doing a clean reinstall or moving HM to a new computer you should consider the following.

Export Your Notes
http://faq.holdemmanager.com/images/notes-02.jpg

Export Your Bonuses and Rakeback - Options > Rakeback & Bonuses http://faq.holdemmanager.com/images/rakeback-bonuses-01.jpg

Export any tourney summaries by selecting all your tournaments in the Data View Sub-Tab of the Tourney > Results Menu and choose Export Tourney Results and summaries

and finally

Another question on performing this task. How does one exclude hand historys to export? i.e.- I have Cake HH that HEM does not read and do not want them in the export to the new computer.

We dont have selective export so the easiest thing to do is to import them all and delete the cake hands, btw we do support cake we just dont allow the hud use

I'm missing something here. I can't see where you get to this menu.

Just right click to get that menu

Cake cash games seem to be ok but HEM has major issues with the tourney results.

You need to edit them manually because Cake doesn't write any summaries
