Hey,

I'm trying to share my database between my desktop and laptop.
I have my database (data-directory) installed on a portable HD.
The problem is that for some reason I can't get PostgreSQL to work on both computers = postgrsql server won't start on latter computer.
To clarify: First I installed postgresql on my laptop and got it working fine but then I installed it on my desktop and server won't start.
Then I uninstalled it from both comps and tried it other way around = installed it first on my desktop and got it working fine but now on laptop server won't start.
Any ideas?

Yes, although I installed version 8.4.2 where installation process is a bit different. Basically it's simplier / less options to choose from. U only choose where to install main program and where to install data directory.

Its a very unstable configuration to access database files directly from 2 computers. We can't give you more support than the FAQ for this.

But i would recommend to use your desktop as database server for both computers:
FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Run PostgreSQL Over a Network (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/90/Run+PostgreSQL+Over+a+Network+)
or use 2 differnet Postgresql installations and copy and import the handhistory files on both computers.
