View Full Version : Can't get my HUD to show for FT Rush Tables

I'm using HEM v1.10.02 beta2 (the rush poker patch from the release thread) on my PC running Vista (everything as admin)

I've made sure to size my tables correctly (I REALLY prefer to use larger tables, but been using tables at 650 pixels).

I do have table mods that change the color of the table to an almost black color and I use a 4 color deck. None of the action buttons (Fold, Call, Raise) have been changed and are still all default.

The hands import fine. I can see the results when I look in HEM Cash Games. The tables also appear in the Table Manager pop up (just listed, not updated results). Everything seems to be working as it should except that the HUD with player stats just won't show up.

Here's a screen shot of two open Rush Tables while running HEM:

It looks like from that screenshot that there is no stats picked in Hud Options > player Preferences, can you double check that, it might be using another configuration so check all your hud configs, i may be wrong but that is exactly what happens if you remove all the stats it just shows the note icon so the hud is there.

I did set up a separate Rush Poker Configuration when Rush first came out to only show hero stats and no stats for anyone else. But I have double checked that the default configuration is selected so it should show all my normal stats.

I opened HUD Options > Player Preferences and the default configuration is selected. The default configuration is set to show both me and my opponents. Here's a screen shot just to make sure:

You need default basepods. The color around the player names must be default black/white colors.

FTP Graphics Restore (http://www.fozzypokermods.com/ftprestore.html)

You can use my selective graphics restore to install the default basepods and timers. I have always made an alternate set of basepods for my themes to support AHK/PSC programs. These pods use the default colors around the text.

i also recommend you make a custom hud layout and leave your default HUD set to a site you never play. Then you can export/import the hud layouts to individual xml files without issue.

Bummer. I like my table mod. Since this Rush Tables are set up differently in the FT Software , can I only restore my rush tables "pods" back to default?

When I installed the FT update when Rush Poker first came out, by default, I had the non modded FT setup on rush tables, but my modded setup (as in the screen shot above) was still active on everything else. I had to manually go into the FT folder and copy and past something (can't remember what I did exactly) to get my modded set up to show on the Rush tables.

I only play Rush tables on occasion and would love to keep my table mods the way they are for the majority of my play on FT (non rush tables).

Things work perfectly on everything, but the rush tables so it would be great to only have the default pods when I play on rush tables and have my normal mod setup on everything else I play.

I hope I explained that correctly :)

All you need are the default basepods installed during rush games, so you should be able to use the selective graphics restore package. Install those before your Rush session and then reinstall your mod after you play Rush. If Bar Nuthin changed the basepod/timer positions in that theme, the default basepod/timer may look a little out of alignment, like when I install the default basepods into my CardRunners theme.

Hey Fozzy,

I used your "FTPSelectiveRestore" program to restore the default base pods. Unfortunately, I still can't get the HUD to show. I still just get the little star icons.

I'm not sure whether our Rush Hud supports Omaha hands. I'll forward this question.

The HUD works fine for me on Omaha tables. The HUD is working for you also, or the note icons would not be showing. Your HUD layout for omaha tables must not be setup properly for it to only show note icons and no stats. If you cant figure it out attach your prefs file. Please attach your prefs.xml file from C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder. If your extensions are off you'll just see a file called prefs. To attach it to a thread in the forums, look below the post reply button when you start a new thread and you'll see a manage attachments button. Click this and attach the file.

The HUD works perfectly for other tables I play including HU Cash games, SNG's and MTT's. I just can't get the Rush Tables to work.

As requested I've attached the prefs.xml file.

Hi, your prefs.xml file has become corrupt, please delete it while HM is closed, restart HM and then it will create a new default one and then you can re-configure it again.

Thanks Morny,

I was hoping for an easy way to export my current HUD settings and them import them back after I deleted prefs.xml.

Can I do this or would I just be re-importing the corrupt portion I'm trying to fix?

If I can do this, what is the best way?

I created a new config named Basic and then exported that newly named "basic" configuration to my desktop. Can I now delete the prefs.xml and just re-import this new basic.xml back into HEM after?

Yes, you should be able to. I would recommend you test an orbit using only the default HUD. Then close the Table Manager and import your custom HUD. Make sure you set the Default HUD to a site you never play. Now if the problem is still gone you should be OK.

Well, we're making progress, but still not quite there :)

I closed HEM, deleted the prefs.xml file then opened HEM and set the default player preferences to Boss Poker (which I don't play). I then played a few hands of Rush poker and some HUD stats came up, but they weren't for the players seated at the table. And none of my stats came up at all.

Here's a screen shot:

http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff92/ffrllc/HUD.png

I went to attach the new prefs.xml file that I assumed was going to be re-created after deleting the old one. But, I don't have a file in my Config folder named exactly "prefs.xml" anymore. The only xml files with "prefs" in it now are:

prefs.xml_1.04.13 (created 8/13/2008)
prefs.xml_1.05.08 (created 8/13/2008)

I have a "PosPrefs2.txt" file that was just now created (2/14/2010).

Looks like I now have a prefs.xml file. It was just created this most recent time I opened HEM. I've attached it in case it helps identify the current problem.

Is your FTP client in English? FTP Lobby > Languages > Open Language Options

If none of the following things help email me for a support session and I will try to get it working for you.

0) Make sure the FTP Lobby > Languages > Language Options are set to English.

1) The tables need to be sized appropriately. (600 - 750 range) If your Rush table is outside of that range a pop-up message in the HUD window will advise you.

2) Make sure your HUD doesn't overlap names on the table. We're using a screen scrape method for various reasons and the names must be visible so we can read them.

3) Most performance issues can be resolved by changing the table window size even by a small amount.See #1 and make sure you have the rush update installed http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdateRush.exe

4) See this post for a update if you wish to get better performance from the RUSH HUD
http://forums.holdemmanager.com/127379-post119.html

5) Test the Hud out on a normal table first to verify its working

6) Dont use any Aero or other windows themes, change it to the default xp/vistawin7 theme

XP Windows XP: Use Windows XP in "Classic view" (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/personalize/classic.mspx)
Vista Change the desktop theme (http://www.microsoft.com/enable/training/windowsvista/theme.aspx)
Win7
Windows 7 Switching Desktop Themes in Windows 7: Changing the Windows Aero Theme With Two Easy Methods (http://pc-tutorials.suite101.com/article.cfm/switching_desktop_themes_in_windows_7)

7) Turn Cleartype Off
Vista How to Turn Off ClearType in Windows Vista (http://www.i4u.com/article7805.html)
Windows 7 Turn Off ClearType — MAXIMUMpcguides – Windows 7 tips, tricks, help, and how-to guides (http://maximumpcguides.com/windows-7/turn-off-cleartype/)

8) Turn Avatars off in Full Tilt go to Options and untick Avatars

9) Switch between Classic and Racetrack in FT by going to Options > Table View

10) If you are using graphics mods you need to restore the default FTP graphics.

FTP Graphics Restore (http://www.fozzypokermods.com/ftprestore.html)

You should be able to use the Selective Restore Package and install the BasePods Classic and BasePods RaceTrack so that HMHUD can properly read the names from the basepod. The area around the player name text must be the default colors of Black or White.

11) Reduce number of tables

12) Please give HoldemManager Administrator rights -

1) Go to C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager (Program Files (x86) if you have the 64bit version)
2) Rightclick the HoldemManager.exe and choose "Properties".
3) Go to the Compatibility Tab and select "Run this program as an Administrator".
4) Do the same for HMHud.exe and DBControlPanel.exe
