Hi, I am having problems with HEM not importing all hands. I have vista running as administrator and have the latest update. I created a new database, and when I downloaded the full tilt recent hh files to the new database it worked. So there is something wrong with my current database, can you give me instructions for what to do next to fix the database?

If your old DB is damaged you should just use your new DB and delete the old one.

*Now import a small portion of your \HMArchive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: How to Import & Export Hands (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/98/How+to+Import+%26+Export+Hands)
*If the new DB seems to work properly, you will want to import the rest of your archives to the new DB, export/import the hands from the old DB to the new DB, and export/import any player notes and tourney summaries - and then delete the old DB.
*Make sure you export/backup everything before deleting the old DB

Please update to the latest version - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe

Create a NEW database.

Reimport ALL your original handhistories.

---

To "fix" your old database you can try to REINDEX (in pgAdminIII)the entire database.

how do I tell where my database is, I went to the /hmarchive and it was a very small file with only about 3k hands in it, but I should have a database over 1 million hands

The database is managed by Postgresql, its not a single file on your computer.

For creating a new database: FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Create / Delete Database (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/75/Create+%7B47%7D+Delete+Database)

After that you need to reimport the hands from the archive folder via import file or import from folder.

The reindex is a pgadminIII function.
How to use pgadminIII: FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Vacuum Analyze Database (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/88/Vacuum+Analyze+Database+)
Select the Reindex option in the maintenance operations window

the biggest problem I am having is that the /hmarchive is a very small file and it does not contain all of my hand histories. Do you know how to locate where all of my hand histories are.

I looked in the postgresql program and it showed that i have over 2 million hands, but they are not located in the /hmarchive, only a limited amount of hands. So where are they?

Do a search on your computer for .txt files.
Which folder did you use before as the 'archive' folder??
