View Full Version : Session "60 minutes, 11 Hands" = TOTALLY FALSE!!

Is there anyway to change when a "session ends" for example. I am looking at Sessions Tab sorted by Table. One session is listed as

"60 minutes / 11 Hands Played"

I play 9 hands over 10 minutes and then played 3 hands over 3 minutes with a 47 minute break in the middle.

This DISTORTS one's hourly rate as it shows "Minutes Played" as being significantly higher than it really is.

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.net/hmbetaupdate

options > adjust site import times, if the site times are different than your local time

Close HM

C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config\HoldemManger.config

Open with > Notepad

Approximately at line 60:

<setting name="SessionTimeoutDuration">30</setting>

30 minutes of no playing = new session

I use 5 minutes

<setting name="SessionTimeoutDuration">5</setting>

This did not help....

Hi PP

I am wondering if I'm misunderstanding something ...

Where does it say "60 minutes / 11 Hands Played" ?

I see 13 hands played over 68.5 minutes - that's what it shows in your picture
8 hands are played in + 4 minutes & then 5 hands in + 4 mins with a gap of 60 minutes between
Did you 'sit out' play at Locasta III for 60 mins - not actually leaving the table ?
If so surely that counts as one session not two ?

There are numerous sessions in my database where this happens. I do not know if I sat out or not. I don't see why that should be the same session, certainly it still distorts winrates.

############
I ran a test on my 1.10.01 playing 6max NLHE cash at PokerStars on a table. I have already changed the 'SessionTimeoutDuration' to '5'

############
This is what I did:
A] Start time 04:29:59. End time 04:34:19 = 4.3mins @ table x
B] Then I sat out for just over 9mins, but I didn't leave table x
C] Start time 04:43:09. End time 04:51:21 = 8.3mins @ table x

############
Under Cash Games > Sessions:
My HM displays this as two sessions & the $/hr has been calculated based on the 12.6mins I was playing rather than 21mins I was sat at the table

############
This surprises me - I thought HM would made it one session unless I left a table & rejoined it - I'm a bit puzzled

############
Will try this again tomorrow when I'm not tired

Hand 8 starts at 19:47:30 when you would have flopped quads if you hadn't folded your rags !!

The very NEXT HAND STARTS EXACTLY one hour later to the second at 20:47:30

I reckon your HM was so shocked by that missed opportunity it entered a new time/space region & went on computer tilt. On the evening of 30th January did you bump into anyone named 'The Doctor' ? He always has a far-too-young 'niece' hanging out with him (sorry if you don't get that Brit reference)

I suggest that you look again & see what numerical value you have in <code style="white-space: nowrap;"><code><setting name="SessionTimeoutDuration">?<!--</font-->setting>

</code></code>############
Because I can confirm that my HM makes an allowance for the the time sitting out at a table & only calculates $/hr based on playing time. I think you should run a test with just one table open & see if it behaves itself then in 1.10.01...

############
I joined table z at 23:41 & waited for the BB to to come round
When my HUD popped up a little pre-fetch HH was generated here:
C:\Program Files\PokerStars\HandHistory\MyName\
It shows one hand without me involved
It doesn't have my name in it obviously & it's simply called: 'table name'
At 23:43:01 I post a BB & I'm dealt in...

############
A] Start time 23:43:01. End time 23:44:22 = 1.4mins @ table z
A new HH was created when I joined at C:\Program Files\PokerStars\HandHistory\MyName\
It's written to until I sit out & its called 'HH20100204 table name, stakes, USD No Limit Hold'em'

############
B] Then I sat out for exactly 7:00 mins, but I didn't leave table z
Both HH's disappeared from the above folder 5 mins after they had last been written to & ended up in C:\HMArchive\2010\02\04

############
C] Start time 23:51:22. End time 23:52:42 = 1.3mins @ table z
A new table HH was generated here: C:\Program Files\PokerStars\HandHistory\MyName\
'2352HH20100204 table name, stakes, USD No Limit Hold'em'
As you can see it's name is prefixed by the time to distinguish it from the other HH at the same table

############
Total time playing @ table z = 2mins 42secs = 2.7mins
Total time sitting @ table z = 9 mins 41secs = 9.7mins

############
Under Cash Games > Sessions:
My HM displays this as two sessions & the $/hr has been calculated based on the minutes played rather than the minutes I was sat at the table

Sorry, it is too late for me to try and comprehend this tonight. I will take a look in depth tomorrow morning.
