Hello,

I have just bought this and it's not working at all from day one. HM2 gets to the main window, sits there for about 10 seconds and then insta-crashes. The log contains nothing notable though i've attached it to this post. I have done everything in the following guide:

http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/1571/Help+with+Crashing+issues%3F

I have re-installed, used the updater to get to 2.0.0.6991. I have tried everything suggested on any post on this forum too.

I am very disappointed and would like my money back please.

hmWhich Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\holdemmanager.exe, hudfuncsapp.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager2 installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for those files even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily.

Run a manual Windows Update and install all updates, including all .net framework updates.

Update to: http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/6997_Hm2AutoUpdate.exe :

When there is a crash, please sent your full log.txt file, located in the following folder to hm2support@holdemmanager.com:

Windows 7: C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\

XP: c:\documents and settings\{username}\appdata\HoldemManager

Hi,

I'm curious, did you actually read my post in detail at all? I have tried all of the things you have suggested. Please don't just post canned replies, it's really unprofessional.

I have emailed support as you have requested.

Thanks

You are correct, the log does not show any exceptions as to why you are crashing. Please reproduce the crash and post the log file before running hm2 again. Have you tried a clean install to resolve the crashing?

Please delete everything EXCEPT FOR the Database, Notecaddydefinitions, Backups and Config folders in:

7: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\
You must show both hidden files and check unhide system files. See this: How to show hidden files in Windows 7 (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial151.html)

XP: C:\Documents and Settings\User_name\Application Data\HoldemManager
For showing hidden files and unhide system files, see this: Microsoft Corporation (http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/win_fcab_show_file_extensions.mspx?mfr=true)

Uninstall and reinstall this version of HM2: http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/6971HM2Setup.exe

Add holdemmanager.exe, hudfuncapps.exe, postgres.exe, pg_ctl.exe and hmupdate.exe (available only during an update) to the list of exceptions in your firewall and antivirus.

Make sure that you are running HM2 as an administrator.

You may need to uninstall your Anti-Virus, install HM2, and reinstall your Anti-Virus.
