View Full Version : automated importing of tourney summaries???

i've been using pokertracker for a while and am recently checking out holdem manager.

i definitely love it over PT except for one thing.

with PT, i can update tournament results with a 3rd part app called 'tournament updater'. it works very well. one click and tournament results are imported from pokerstars and fulltilt.

but with HM, i am not aware of any such software, and HM does not make it easy to update tournaments as far as i can tell. it seems to update some tournaments and not others. though it seems to handle full tilt tournament summaries automatically.

it will import summaries that i manually request from pokerstars, but this is a very tedious process that i'm just not going to want to do all the time. since i play mostly tournaments and most of them are on pokerstars, it just wouldn't be wise for me to switch to HM if it does not automatically handle the tournaments at pokerstars.

i emailed support and they told me to request/import results manually. bleh...

anyone have this same problem and a solution for it?

also, i read some threads on something called 'tournament manager' that seemed to imply that app has something to do with importing tourney summaries. i google for it and found http://www.tourneymanager.net/ , but i don't think that's the app being referred to here. the forum http://forums.holdemmanager.com/forumdisplay.php?f=16 refers to tourney manager but only provides links to holdem manager (are they the same thing?).

i'd love to justify buying a second hand tracker app, but not one that's going to be harder to use because i have to do so much manual importing.

We have no tool for this imports. The only way at the moment is to save the contents of the mail to a .txt file and import this.

You can use our uservoice system (link in my signature) to vote for an addition.

Btw. Tourneymanager is a different application from the same company.

looks like the latest version of tournament updater supports HEM now! i'm trying it for the first time against my HEM DB and it seems to be working.

you should really promote this fact. this app takes a great deal of pain out of managing tournament result data:

bah, i tried it yesterday and thought it worked, but later it no longer worked.

not sure if it works or not :)

it works great for PT though, and they are obviously attempting to build in HEM support, so it should work at some point, and it's a great tool.
