computer slow

Hi
my computer is having problems since I upgraded HEM to the latest release:
my poker tables and HEM itself freeze for a few seconds.
what is it? I m under windows Vista I have the latest version of HEM (small stakes 1.10)
When I click the "refresh" button in Hem it takes a while before things load and sometimes the message "not responding" appears for a while..
