I haven't made any upgrades to HEM recently I think i was using 1.10 beta 5. I started up a session and the player cache upgrade dialog popped up. I let it run it's course and continued to play HUDless. After it finished I attempted to import hands, it ran through some files but I didn't see it actually import any hands. I decided to try and upgrade so I got the latest beta, and the same dialog came up. I once again let it run it's course and the same thing happened afterwards, no hands imported, and the dialog box pops up every time I reopen HEM.

I've checked my services and postgres is running.

halp plz

- Reboot your computer
- Please upgrade to 1.10 final: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdate.exe
* Under Vista and Windows 7 make sure that holdemmanager.exe, hmhud.exe and dbcontrolpanel.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the holdemmanager.exe, dbcontrolpanel.exe and the hmhud.exe executable and select "Run as admin" from the popup menu under compatibilty.

* If that doesn't help, please answer and post these questions to give us some more details about your system: http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=174

That link just takes me to the generic FAQ homepage. I did all the above steps with the same result.

Some details about my system,
Dell E1505 laptop
2 GB RAM
Inttel Core 2 CPU @ 2 GHz
32bit Vista

I've been using HEM for quite some time (I'd guess 16-18 months) and this is the first time this dialog has continually come up. The only thing I can think of that may have triggered it is that I was grinding some satellite SNGs on stars and FTP with everything HEM related running fine. My internet went out so I disabled and renabled my wireless card, and restarted my system a few times (no updates were applied). My internet came back on about 2 hours later (blinded out of the sats ofc) and I tried to start a FR session, so I clicked on HEM and the player cache upgrade dialog came up. Problem has continued since.

I made a post in the HEM forums

http://forums.holdemmanager.com/showthread.php?t=24961

So tilting when I haven't done any upgrades or installed any new software

Is it 'optimizing players'?

The optimize reports should only happen once, per player imported with known hole cards. It usually happens after a bulk import.

If it continues to optimize every time you restart HM:

You can disable this (make sure HM is closed) by going into the Holdem Manager\Config folder then right click and choose "New text Document" and name it NoOpt. Next time you launch HM it should skip this process.

Have you tried making a new DB yet?

I created C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config\noOpt.txt and it still goes to the player cache upgrade dialog

I could try creating a new database but it's going through 130k players every time I try to get into HEM so it'd be about a half hour until I could try that

Just realized you said NoOpt, not noOpt. Either way it's not working with either variant of the text file

The consensus is that your DB has probably been damaged beyond repair.

*Try creating a new UTF DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=146
*Now import a small portion of your \HMArchive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=173
*If the new DB seems to work properly, you will want to import the rest of your archives to the new DB, and then delete the old DB. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=21

If you don't yet have logging turned off in postgresql, I would suggest it. If you are using an old version of postgresql this may be a good time to upgrade to 8.4. http://forums.holdemmanager.com/showthread.php?t=20755

None of those links work for me in chrome or firefox. Just takes me to the generic FAQ homepage

Sorry, we just replaced our FAQs so all of my noteabbs.ahk hotstrings have to be updated. They point to our old FAQs still, which just redirects to our new main faq page.

Just search the faq's for how to create/delete a new DB if you need the instructions.

Thanks foz, I'm letting the player cache upgrade run hopefully it's last time, then deleting and creating a new database

I'll let you know how it goes

New database seems to have fixed the problem.

Thanks for the help
