Hello,

I play superturbos on FT and I've been trying to use HEM manager to help me plug leaks but I don't think I'm quite using it right. I'm trying to use the $EV Diff column in the Tourney Data View to sort out the games where I lost EV and then sorting the hands to see where the mistakes are made. However, in doing so I came across this hand that makes me wonder how helpful this really is. Can someone please explain why I have an EV of -$15.85 for the following hand?

Seat 1: Villian (300)
Seat 2: Player 1 (300)
Seat 3: Player 2 (300)
Seat 4: Hero (300)
Seat 5: Player 3 (300)
Seat 6: Player 4 (300)
Seat 7: Player 5 (300)
Seat 8: Player 6 (300)
Seat 9: Player 7 (300)
Villian posts the small blind of 15
Player 1 posts the big blind of 30
The button is in seat #9

Ok, I thought I understood it before but when I do the math I think I see where it's coming from. So, if I want to single out the plays that I make that are -EV, what would be the best way to do that?

The KK vs A5 is an interesting hand in a super turbo.

If you win the hand (70% chance) you have a 600 stack with 8 players left---> and you have a 22% chance to win the SNG (600/2700 x 100%)

If you lose the hand (30% chance) you have lost your buyin--->
and you have a 0% chance to win anything.

So prior to this hand your EV was X. And X is the same amount as the buyin.
In winning the hand you have a EV of -$15.85 for the hand.
So the buyin for the SNG was (30 * -15.85) + (70 * 2x) / 100 = x
x = ?

Focus on the overall $EV Won for the SNG. If you won 0 but your $EV Won is close to the buyin amount you played GOOD. If you won 2x/3x/5x but your $EV Won was 0 you were lucky in the SNG. (most likely because you won a coinflip)
