View Full Version : Is this considered a donk bet?

Hi.

So I raise preflop and get a caller in the SB. I bet the flop and the SB raises me, I call. He bets out the turn...what is that stat I am looking for here?

Is this donk bet turn? Technically, it is not a donk bet as he took over on the flop as the raiser. What stat should I look for here to see how often he is raising the flop then betting out OOP on the turn?

Thanks!
Stephen

Thank you for your reply.

Then I am confused what a donk bet is.

1) Tonight I 3bet a pot and the SB bet into the flop. Isn't this a donk bet? It was not recorded as a flop donk bet.

2) Tonight I donked into the PFR raiser (he was in SB, I in BB) on both flop and turn....on the river he bet out. I consider this a donk on the river as I took the lead on the flop and turn. HM did not record it as a donk bet. What is this then...a river cbet by him as he took the lead preflop?

My guess would be that a donk bet on HM is considered a bet anytime the better is different than the PFR. Whoever took control of the hand on previous streets is irrelevant...is this correct?

Thanks in advance.

I have another one. I just 3bet and the MP and CO called (I on BTN)

MP bet out flop, but no donk bet recorded.

This is the definition for a donk bet:
Donk Bet Flop

Bet flop before the Pre Flop Raiser has a chance to cbet and does not include limped pots but does include times when you donk and there is more than 2 players whether there is 1 or more players to act as long as you bet and you were not the preflop

And here are the formulas for many stats: http://forums.holdemmanager.com/showthread.php?t=3595

Yes, I understand the donk bet to be what you wrote in your definition.

Two questions:

1) So in my three examples above, two of them I 3bet and I was donked into. Why is this not being recorded as a donk bet, as I 3bet pre and the first player bet into me?

2) Secondly, vs. missed CB if I bet the flop and turn and the PFR bets the river before I have a chance to bet again...what stat does this go under for the PFR on the river?

Thank you.

PS I didn't find any donk bet information in the link you sent.

The link was just a general information.

For deeper analysis we need the original handhistories of the hands. Please zip and mail them with a link to this thread to support@holdemmanager.net

I don't mind doing that and I can still email you if you feel necessary, but there are only two handhistories needed. I posted them below. Let me know if you still want me to email support directly.

2) My second question is: what is his river bet considered? He was the preflop raiser and he check/called two streets then bet out the river....where do I find this stat?

Thank you.

I see that it is not counted as a Donk bet. I'll forward it for further help.

Your 2nd question:
His river bet is just a river bet, nothing else

lickyfeet

Did you ever find out why it is not being counted as a donk bet?

I get no answer so far but i'll push it.

We're looking at it. I too am stumped why this isn't considered a donk bet. I've made a bug request and Programming will help us out. :-)

Donk bets are only counted for raised pots and the hero 3-bet here. I know it's not a very good answer but that's the way the database is organized right now.
