I had just successfully installed HEM and Postgres etc. on my new PC (Windows 7). Then later same day (today) I also installed some antivirus software (PC Tools) on my PC and then I got this message trying to start up HEM:

I am still not sure it is an antivirus issue, since:

1) I have tried to disable it and still getting the same error message
2) I had the same setup on my old PC and it worked fine.

Disabling it is not sufficient. Please uninstall it completely and any other security software and reboot. If that cures it you should look for a different security software. I have had problems with PC Tools in the past, with customers.

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.net/hmbetaupdate

Please give HoldemManager Administrator rights -

1) Go to C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager (Program Files (x86) if you have the 64bit version)
2) Rightclick the HoldemManager.exe and choose "Properties".
3) Go to the Compatibility Tab and select "Run this program as an Administrator".
4) Do the same for HMHud.exe and DBControlPanel.exe


Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171
