i am having extreme difficulty getting your program which i just bought to work. i completed the download but when i click on the
Hold em mangager to open it, it goes to a database control panel screen. when i click the connect tab it says " A connection to postgresSQL could not be made. Would you like to have hold em manager attempt to start the service? " i than click yes and it says " sorry hold em manager was unable to start the service" and than immediately after that another tab comes up and says " hold em manager has started the service. Please try again." and thats it. I am very frustrated right now and do not want to spend all day trying to fix this. Please help!

who is and when am I gonna get helped? Its been two hours since i've email this company and no one has replied to my email or post?!?! seroiously there has to be a way i can get a hold of someone to fix this or walk me through it.

I couldn't agree more. The support here is TERRIBLE. Wish I had stayed with PT3. Here is a suggestion: If it was paid for with a credit card, and you have not paid the bill yet, call the CC company and put the charges in dispute. See if that gets thier attention-That's what I'm doing.

It was paid by debit card. Can i call my bank and still dispute it? I Looked at my bank account online and the debit is processing. Should I call my bank? I just wish they would contact me and help me. My friend has this software and says that it is the nuts, so i wouldn't mind trying it.

I am sorry you are having problems with our old installer. We are working on a new isntaller which simplifies the install/setup a lot.

We usually answer emails and posts within a few hours. We have multiple support employees that check the forums and emails, so try to have a little patience.

These connection errors of yours are usually a firewall or windows update issue.

First try to reboot.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

If that doesnt help delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Please try following all of these FAQs, step by step:

1) http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=34
2) reinstall the same version of postgresql, using the same \data folder - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=177
3) http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8261

If that doesn't help you will probably have to reinstall PostgreSQL completely and reimport your hands using these instructions - http://forums.holdemmanager.com/showthread.php?t=20755

I just replied to your post/thread in less than 1 hour from when you first created it. I don't know what makes that 'terrible' in anyones book.

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

If you are still having problems after my instructions above we can setup a remote support session.

i think a remote session might be best. I probably not the most computer literate guy out there and it will probably be easier for me. I tried allowing the program through windows firewall and I got to the part were it said to browse C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager when i look for this path it says that C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager does not exist?!? maybe this is it? when can we set up a time to handle this?
