Hi,

in the process of moving my UB database from pt2 to hem. I've got a million to a million and a half hands with a lot of duplicates to import. I've had repeated problems doing the import and getting database corruption.

C:\Documents and Settings\thatguy\Desktop\data\hh\hh-9-15-08\0614200801431652_Leppersdorf.txt ERROR: 25P02: current transaction is aborted, commands ignored until end of transaction block

Is my standard repeated error for all text files after a period of time. Some files import correctly, but almost all of them do not.

are the initial errors outputted from ImportErrors.txt

After that, it spews out the original error ERROR 25P02 for almost every table session for a billion more lines.

I'm using 1.06.03h, and it was repeatable with a 1.05 install I had previously along with the current version.

Thanks for any help and tell me if I need to supply any more information or I missed something, nothing in the faq covered this and other than people on stars who were having problems with the new hh format they switched to, I didn't see any forum posts covering it.

I'm using pg 8.2, but I have 8.3 installed as well and can try that if necessary.

Also I prolly posted this in the wrong forum, if somebody could move this to HEM bugs I'd appreciate it.

How did you go about exporting the HH from PT2?

Have you tried importing directly from the original HH which PT usually move processed files to? If not please try that

Also im unsure what you done, did you try it with 1.05 first and then 1.06.03h, if so the 2nd time around you would need to move the HH to a new folder otherwise HM will remember it already tried to import unsuccessfuly and skip them so try that aswell.

Lastly if your still having problems please send me a bunch of HH to morny@holdemmanager.net

I have a folder of imported hand histories from pt2 that I moved over. But I also have some pt2-exported hands in there without any of the original hand histories. It's a gigantic clusterfuck of hand histories, some of them straight from pt2's export, some of them duplicates from when I tried to keep multiple date sets of archives then gave up because I didn't have them accurately listed. So right now it's just one giant fuckmess. I tried with 1.05 first. Most of them errored out, so I made a new db and updated to 1.06 and I still had the same problems. I thought the log errors would give you some clue as once those first 20 lines or so spewed out all the errors were the same (with different files). But I can send on as many as you want

The problem is you will get tons of errors with 1.05 as there was umpteen fixes for HH problems between 1.06.03h and 1.05 so thats not surprising at all. When you update to 1.06 (Is this 1.06.03h because if it wasnt again youll get a lot of errors especially with stars) and reimport from the same folders it will see "Ive already tried importing these files and there were errors so im not going to waste my time again" so alot of the time you need to move the files to a new folder and reimport.

I would suggest creating a completely new database http://208.109.95.123/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=146 and make 100% sure you have 1.06.03h http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdate1.06.03h.exe, then run the imports and make sure the files are moved to a new folder and the thing you need to look out for at the end of the process is how many hands it imported vs errors. You will probably get some errors from the odd mined HH that was corrupt etc but just let me know what they are before i spend the time checking the HH when it might only be the problem of using an older version to import.

make sure you use Import from folder and not auto import to import these files.

I'm 100% sure I have 1.06.03h.
I'm 100% sure that I did an import from folder.
I'm 100% sure it tried to import at least twice from separate folders.

Right, I understand I'll get a few errors. But on successful imports I was getting like 30 errors for 200k hands. When I get this huge spew I have something like 100k errors (ie, I "import" 110k hands and I have 100k errors and my stats don't change) and the vast majority of them are that transaction ignored error.

I've created new databases 3 times, all when I had 1.06.03h

Once the database is corrupt, I get 90%+ error rates on importing new hands that import just fine on a clean database. ie, I have 100k hands from the last 2 months and I can import those ok. But as soon as I start importing hands from the archives the db gets shat on and then it's gg no re, and if I try to import those hands again in a corrupt db in a different folder I can't.

I really don't think I've missed anything.

Well I don't know now, I'll try to repeat the problem with a new db but I just did a fourth fresh db and I got pretty much 100% of my hands imported correctly. Otherwise thanks morny, maybe I did end up fucking around with something.
