View Full Version : Config file missing - can`t start HEM

Hi,
while i was playing today, my manager suddenly froze. I decided to close it with the Task Manager and restart it. But then I got the msg "An error occured while reading the config//HoldemManager.config file: Main element is missing (the "main element is missing" I translated cuz its in my language).
Holdem Manager will now backup the old config file and create a new one for you". When i press OK, im getting a windows error msg in my language telling me that an error occured, and if i press "continue" the program will ignore it and try continue, and if I press "close" then the program will shut down. So after i press "continue" the program freezes at the starting window.
I decided to update HEM cuz i had the beta 1.09 41. Now i have the recent version 1.10 beta 7. And nothing changed. I don`t really know what else to do. Reinstall? I think updateing is kinda like a reinstall so I don`t really know. And I dont really want to import all of those Hands again :(.

Then:
-1 Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/holdemmanager.zip
-2 Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe



For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab. If you have Vista and the checkboxes are greyed out and you can't select it, please turn UAC on, reboot, and then set the files to run as administrator.

Just have one other question. Where can I find my HEM key? I bought it a year ago and now dont have an idea where to find it.
Or is it saved in the config folder and I dont need to retype it later?

It was originally emailed to you from sales@holdemmanager.net or your reseller.


Please try using our registration system to register your current/new license. Then you will be able to retrieve or reset your own license, as needed. http://www.holdemmanager.net/Registration/

To get your current license from your running installation of HEM: Help > Show Serial Number

You will need to sign up, login, and then reset your code, then logout/login, to verify it was reset.


If you have lost it completely, email your details/questions to sales@holdemmanager.net.

I`ve got one more question out of curiosity: Why can`t I just unistall it normally with Windows? Why should I use Revo Uninstaller?

P.S. I still would appreciate an answer for the last questions. :)

Revo will delete the files in the: registry, the hidden system files (containing license info), etc. etc.
