I am answering this currently on 2p2. Please try not to double post it. It is always best to post it here where you can have your own dedicated thread and have help from multiple HM employees.

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue.

First try to reboot.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

If that doesnt help delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Please try following all of these FAQs, step by step:

1) http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=34
2) reinstall the same version of postgresql, using the same \data folder - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=177
3) http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8261

If that doesn't help you will probably have to reinstall PostgreSQL completely and reimport your hands using these instructions - http://forums.holdemmanager.com/showthread.php?t=20755

ty, i've done what u said and it is very very very weird, because if i open HM just when I turn on my computer HM works but if i wait 10 mins to open HM i can't 'cause these error

and if I reboot my computer and i again open hm just in 30 segs it works

so, something has to be blocking the postgresql i think

This usually is a firewall problem. Which one are you using. You need to configure exceptions or uninstall it.

Is this windows 7?

1) Use www.revouninstaller.com to uninstall postgresql.

2) run the command - start > programs > accessories > command prompt > right-click > run as administrator

net user postgres /delete

3) reboot

4) Install this version of PostgreSQL - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Postgres_8.3.9-v1.0.7.exe

You should uninstall / reinstall postgres like Fozzy posted before.
