im new and trying to install omaha manager and it wont allow me to.

i am someone who is not technically savvy at all and i dont know the first thing i am doing. also i dont think support is too good cause they dont have a phone number, and it takes almost 24 hours to respond back to an email. so i guess ill need the help of the other members.

i first had to install something called netframework, and then it let me download holdem manager, which i was told was also omaha manager. i got it FREE for getting in so much play on a new poker site i signed up for. and i was able to enter in the registration code without problems.

and now it made me install another program. postgreSQL8.3 or something like that was the name. well i tried and it wont let me cause it says i have to unzip the zip files. i dont know how to do that.

so i went and typed on yahoo search "unzip zip files" --and this is what i found.

To unzip a file, right-click the file, such as Government Proposal.zip, and then click Extract on the shortcut menu.

so i then went to my documents, found the file, and right clicked on extract and heres the message i am getting. actually it was extract all, there was no option saying extract, only option was extract all. i have windows XP.

something comes up called the "extraction wizard"
and it says select a folder to extract files to. files will be extracted to this directory. and i selected my documents. but when i click on next this happens.
a message comes up that says NO FILES TO EXTRACT. and now im lost.

would really appreciate help over the phone or thru yahoo messenger. i wish i lived in vegas instead of remote central KS so i could find someone who also has this installed, come over to their house or meet them somewhere with our computers, and have them show me exactly what to do. i dont have a lot of money but id stake them in a low buyin game for their help, but not online i wouldnt, only if i was in vegas able to get help in person. but im not and i dont think ill be able to use the program, its too user unfriendly to install.

well i think it might've unzipped those files after i tried to download the update too, but now im having a different problem. (a box came up suggesting i extract and i click it). heres the new error message im getting.

this is when i click on the postgresql icon in my documents and try to open it.

this installation package could not be opened. verify that the package exists and u can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package.

you need to unzip the zip file completely to a temporary folder or to the desktop and start the installation from there:

It is best to handle this on our forums or via remote support. This thread moves too fast for this type of issue.

We have a brand new installer in internal beta testing that should be released very soon to solve all of these problems you are having. We know it is difficult to install and setup in it's current form and working hard to resolve it very soon. I had the same difficulties as you 30 months ago, the first time I tried installing this software, so I know exactly how you feel.

We offer remote support sessions to be able to assist any customer that is having problems, anywhere in the world, assuming they have a moderate speed internet connection.


--------i think the first part got solved, but i will have tons of other problems before its fully operational. why dont u have an office located somewhere in the USA people can walk in and ask for help in learning how to install so u can watch someone else do it?

This wouldn't help for 99.99% of our customers that have problems. We spend a lot of money for our remote support software licenses and salaries for our tech team to provide this service. Our new installer is being created to try and help reduce that along with the new user install/setup problems you are experiencing.

well i think its downloaded right now, downloaded the 2 things u suggested, and then got it done using the holdem manager installer. now for the next problem.

(hard to schedule a session for u to use the team viewer to assist, because i never know which hours ill be up and on the computer) tonite i wont be home later. tomorrow ill be in the 30,000 freeroll on stars. am on it playing at least 10 hrs a day unless im not at home.

ok, about 2 weeks before i got this, i had to have windows reinstalled. so my computer was starting anew fresh, and after getting my computer back from the guy who reinstalled windows, i had to install everything from scratch.

so i didnt realize stars wasnt saving my hand histories. well today i fixed that and now they are being saved. but how do i get them past HHs and import them so my database isnt empty? can i get them from the entire past year? i hope u read this forum many times a day.

You can email their support and ask for all your old hand histories and tourney summaries.

You should have it auto importing if you want to use the HUD and other real-time tools. if not you can just use the Import From Folder method and manually import the folder using the bulk import method, from time to time.

well it seems to store a few recent pokerstars HH's and some on cake poker, but it wont seem to import the ones from playersonly for some reason.. could it be cause i have a different screen name there? the message it gives me on players only is it found 0 files to import. which is weird cause i see many tables stored from there in my hand histories. not sure why it worked on cake if it wont on players only, same network.

still i need to vastly increase the database and get all my hand histories from the past year or longer, its still only got about 225 players in it. that way it would have well over 5000 or more.

and the table finder wont come up, i cant check on any boxes on that page. and my HUD isnt showing up when i bring up a table, could it be cause my HUD isnt set up yet? and im not sure how to set my stats, but id settle for the default ones til i learn more about the diffferent selections.

also if i try to view my own stats, or go to "reports" to see any info in my database about players, it keeps telling me to change and select a player, and when i try to do that it wont let me type in a player, none show up as choices, although it says i got about 210 players.

im too unfamiliar with this to try and do it myself, i guess i need u to schedule the remote assistance. is 8pm central time ok for saturday nite (tonite)? i wont be home sunday will be at the casino instead. it would be much better if u could just take over my computer and do it all for me, but how would i be able to talk to u while u do this if i wouldnt be the one controlling keyboard, and u dont use a phone? without being able to chat i wouldnt be able to explain what all i didnt understand or need.

i dont know how the team viewer works either, but i downloaded it when u first said to.

the reports seem to be working as far as letting me browse my own stats and stats on players and i have no idea what many of them mean, or why they say NA instead of the stats. but no HUD appears. also pokerstars will send me my entire HH back to 2004 which i guess should give me a good sized database, but they cant seperate out the omaha hands only, so how do i import them without it trying to import the holdem hands?

ive got the HUD working, but only if i keep a window open that says table manager 1.09 at all times.

and its putting all the players stats in the wrong spots. the reason for this, is i originally wasnt aware i could click on something and scoot it over a little if it blocked my view of my cards. so i fixed it so it would always put me in a seat this didnt happen. and now it wont let me fix it back

also i would like a link to lots of good videos that teach u about using omaha manager. cant seem to find them on utube, only holdem manager ones.

The table manager must run because he controls the Hud. He is started with the auto-import.

Can you move the stats via right mouse key? If not check your settings in the table preferences: lock the layout must be unchecked, WYSIWIG must be checked.
After arranging the stats save the layout via Table manager -> file -> save positions.

For videos you should look in Poker forums like 2+2, cardrunners, stoxpoker....
