i am trying to completely erase all of postgresql from my computer on windows 7 but.

every time i try to delete the data file (computer>OS(C:)>Program Files (X86)>PostgreSQL>8.3>data) it says "you need permission to perform this action you require permission from administrators to make changes to this folder"

i read somewhere that i needed to move the bar all the way down to "never notify me" under user account control settings... i did this and restarted my computer and came back to the data file and it still has a picture of a lock by it

could you please advise thanks

If you go in the data folder can you delete the files and sub-folders? Is postgresql uninstalled from the Control Panel? If not, try using Revo Uninstaller to remove it. You could also try using these instructions on the \data folder and rebooting. http://forums.holdemmanager.com/showthread.php?t=21154

Is your current \data folder large?

You should be able to reinstall using our newest installer. It will rename the current data folder and install PostgreSQL 8.4 - http://www.holdemmanager.net/pginstaller

If the files really are LOCKED and don't want to be deleted, delete them using an Unlocker (google: unlocker)

Or just leave the 8.3 folder, and install SQL 8.4.2 on port 5433 in a 8.4 folder and use ignore the 8.3 folder.
