Hello

I just noticed that my postgresql version is 8.4.1, and wondered if it is time to update it.

Does HEM work with versions 9.0 and/or 9.1 ?
version 9.2 is now in beta. should I wait for that?

If HEM is not supported with 9.x I should in the very least update to the latest 8.4 version which I believe is 8.4.11

What is the recommended way to go about this? should I just download the newest installer from Download PostgreSQL | EnterpriseDB (http://www.enterprisedb.com/products-services-training/pgdownload#windows) ?
should I go for 32bit or 64bit version? (machine is 64bit, but current postgresql version is 32bit)

my plan was:
a) make a backup using pgAdminIII or pg_dump.exe
b) install 9.1.3
c) import the backup

does this look allright?

edit:
I am very familiar with postgresql on linux, so I am mostly worrying about issues particular to windows (windows 7 in my case).

HM1: update to 8.4.11
Just run the installer. The 8.4.x installer is 32 bit

You can also use 9.0/9.1 for HM1, but it will require you to reimport all your hands into a new database.
(with no actual advantages of 9.0/9.1).
