Hi, I´m experiencing HUD lag on a Boss Media client (Svenska Spel), regardless of how many tables i play on. I have to double click if I want to, for example, fold on a table that is not the active window. If I want to make another table the active window it sometimes takes a second or two, after that I can act on that table. This is really affecting my game.

I have done all the steps in the FAQ: http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=162.
Is there something else I can do?

Shouldn’t HUD be able to run smoothly on my computer? The graphic card is integrated but it is good enough to play 1080p movies without lag, it has the newest drivers. I have the database on a separate HDD. Could perhaps upgrading to windows 7 solve the problem? Or should i upgrade the graphic card to one with 512mb RAM or more?

This is my system information:

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab. If you have Vista and the checkboxes are greyed out and you can't select it, please turn UAC on, reboot, and then set the files to run as administrator.

Thanks for you quick answer. I have done everything you said including the top ten performance tips, unfortunately it made no difference on the HUD lag. Is there something else I can do?

Please check your Boss handhistory folder. It should be empty except hands for currently open tables.
If this is not the case delete the files or move them to a different folder and check your auto-import archive settings.

I’m not sure if I understood correctly. I emptied the hand history folder of the Boss media client and the auto import folder is empty. What should I do with the auto-import archive settings? Should I disable archiving?

Please attach your holdemmanager.config file from C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config.

- If your extensions are off you'll just see a file called holdemmanager.
- To attach it to a thread in the forums, look below the post reply button when you start a new thread and you'll see a manage attachments button.
- Click this and attach the file.

Archiving must be enabled to keep the Boss handhistory folder empty.

Your Boss Client writes the hands to H:\hhcahands?
Is this a network folder?

I use HH Converter, the HH’s are moved to that folder (H:\hhcahands) after they are converted. From this folder Hold’em Manager imports the hand histories.

Since 1.10 Beta x we support Boss directly. So disable the handconverter and try to configure the auto-import for Boss and test it.

I have now disabled the hand converter and configured the auto-import for Boss. Unfortunately I still have the same problem with HUD lag.

And the handhistory folders you have configured in the Auto-Import are empty except the current hands/tables?

Can you try to change the opacity of the Hud and try to change the resolution of your graphics. Are you using 1 or 2 Monitors?

I emptied the history folder of my Boss client (my Auto-Import folder) so only hands from the current session are there, is that what you mean?

I use 1 monitor. I tried every resolution available and played around with different opacity settings. There is no difference regardless of resolution or Hud opacity setting, it doesn’t get more/less laggy with different settings.

I noticed that the lag starts the moment I click “Start Auto Import”, even before the HUD pops up at the tables after a couple of hands.

I'm out of ideas. I'll forward this thread to my colleagues for further help.

The Lag comes with starting the Auto-Import?
Can you please look into the taskmanager to see which process causes the CPU load?

Yes the lag starts the same moment I start Auto-Import.

I've looked at the processes during a session:
HMHud.exe: 0-1%
HMImport.exe: 0-15%. Usually only goes up to 5% but 15% at the most.
HoldemManager.exe: 0%

I tried other Boss Media clients and i've got the same problem with lag on all of them. I also tried on PartyPoker, there it's completely lag-free and everything worked perfectly (I tried 6 tables).

I have a problem too with boss media and HEM. When the hud is activated, I have to click twice to act on a table. If I want to fofd or bet I have to click twice like the table was behind the hud (like to different layers).
Any help?

Hi can you try Hud Options > Force on top and restart HM

I've tried to select "force ontop" but I still have the same problem.
When I have to table opened if the focus is on table one to act on table two I have to select it and than I can push the bottons. Without the hud I just have to click one time. The tables are side by side.

I also noticed that the hud sometimes doesn't start on a new table. But this is OT here.

This is a known bug for some Boss skins (not for all). There will hopefully be a fix soon

There is a workaround for this problem. AutoHotkey can be used, with a script, to make the table you have your mouse pointer over the active window. That way there is no need for double-clicking.
