HEM will work OK. when im restarting my computer after error, but it randomly stops responding and gives me error and i need to restart comp. again.
seems postgresql stops responding(i think) since i cant start it on control panel->admin. tools->services.

got that problem long time for now, and tired of it. im running on win XP and i have tried: uninstalling both HEM & postgresql(now i have 8.4). turned windows firewall off and allowing it run hem&postrge.

edit/ oh and obviously i have updated HEM to latest beta:P

edit2/ more information: after i click OK on that error it sends me to DB control panel and when pressing Connect it gives me some more errors .

This happened with 8.3 and 8.4? Which Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

This is typically the sign of a damaged/unrepairable DB.

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.net/hmbetaupdate

*Try creating a new UTF DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=146
*Now import a small portion of your \HMArchive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=173
*If the new DB seems to work properly, you will want to import the rest of your archives to the new DB, export/import the hands from the old DB to the new DB, and export/import any player notes and tourney summaries - and then delete the old DB. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=21

Make sure you export/backup everything before deleting the old DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20754

Can you uninstall bit defender, reboot, and try a different anti-virus like microsoft security essentials, or AVG, etc.

If that doesn't help, email me at fozzy@holdemmanager.net, with a link to this thread, and your forum name, so we can schedule a Teamviewer session. Download the Teamviewer Quick Support Module - http://www.holdemmanager.net/teamviewer. Please let me know what time zone you are in and what time/days are convenient for you.

Have you solved this issue? I have the same problem as k0ndor, except I have Vista and Eset NOD32 antivirus. I do not think is the antivirus, as I have HM on my notebook as well (also Vista and NOD32) and it is running without any problem. The only thing that helps is PC restart.

If that doesn't help, try reinstalling postgresql using these steps - http://forums.holdemmanager.com/showthread.php?t=20755
