View Full Version : Occasional Tournament Not Loaded

I am mass multi tabling SnGs, and I find that every so often, a tourney is not loaded into the "Results" tab of HEM. I confirm this by clicking on the "Data View" tab and note that the correct number of tournaments has not been loaded. Is there a solution to this?

Do tournament windows need to be manually closed before the "table closed" shows up for the data to load correctly? Sometimes I fail to close a window and just let it sit until "table closed" shows up at the table though the table is still open due to mass multi tabling.

Thank you.

Edit: Oh, everything is fine when I manually enter the tournament including all of the hands from the tournament loading but this is a pain when I have to do it like once every other set.

Which Pokersite?
Which HM Version?

Pokerstars. I had a previous beta version and just upgraded to the latest 1.10 beta 6 to see if that fixes the issue.

Installed latest patch and still had the same issue. Occasional tournaments are missing from the results section and requires manual entry under the "data view" tab.

You need to request and import any/all your tournament histories and import those to HM. Stars does not write the tourney summaries to your hard drive, like FTP does.

Pokerstars > Lobby > Requests > Tournament History .. > 200

Then you have to create a text file, from the email, to import to HM.

Why are 95% of tournaments loaded but not the other 5%? Most of the tournaments are loaded just fine without having to request any additional information.

Because we have defined values for the standard 1 table SnGs in the software. Other types are not predefined and you have to import the summaries.

I'm sorry, I'm probably not being clear. I am playing the same type of SnG over and over and over again. To be specific, I'll start like 25 or so Double or Nothings at the exact same time. Most of them load correctly. Occasionally, only 23 or 24 of them load despite all of the games being the same type of game and started at approximately the same time. Thank you.

Which Operating System? Is HM set to run as admin? http://forums.holdemmanager.com/showthread.php?t=21121

Have you tried to reimport the hands when you notice this?

To get all your missed hands imported

1) Right-Click your Desktop > New > Folder.
2) Go to your \HMArchive folder - To verify the path, go to Options > Configure Auto Import Folders > Edit > Archive Folder: _________.
3) Open that folder and copy the hands (folders of hands) you think it has missed. The archive should be organized by \Month\DayOfMonth (example: D:\HMArchive\2009\07\31). Also get any hand files that are in your \poker site\hand history folder.
4) Paste them into your new desktop folder > HM > Import From Folder.

What version of postgresql and how old is your database? Was it ever a .backup/restored DB?

Perhaps try a new DB and see if the problem persists.

*Try creating a new UTF DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=146
*Now import a small portion of your \HMArchive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=173
*If the new DB seems to work properly, you will want to import the rest of your archives to the new DB, export/import the hands from the old DB to the new DB, and export/import any player notes and tourney summaries - and then delete the old DB. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=21

Make sure you export/backup everything before deleting the old DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20754

The problem is not the hands played, it is that the result of the tournament is not recorded. When I notice a tournament is missing, I have to Tourney -> Results -> Data View (Tab) -> Manual Entry (button) to enter in the tournament information. This is annoying to do because I have to go into my hand history folder to find the tournament(s) that is(are) missing by comparing all the tournament IDs that are already in HEM with those that are in the hand history folder (and archived hand history folder). I then enter the tournament#, place, and prize from the information in the hand history of the missing tournament. When I do this, all of the hands in the SnG attach themselves correctly to the tournament so there is no problem there.

Where do I find my version of postgresql? My database is probably about a year old. I have never done any sort of back up or restoration.

This seems like it is going to take some time so I will attempt to do this over the weekend. Thank you for your help.

You should be able to do this by importing the Tournament Summaries, as I explained earlier. You could do this at the end of each session/day.

You can email their support and ask for all your old hand histories and tourney summaries. They give you download links for the hand histories in ZIP files. The summaries are attached as .htm files. If the hands are imported already you just Import From File(s) and point to the .HTM files. HM will ask which player they are for.

If it is a year old, it is probably PostgreSQL 8.3

If you want to install the latest version 8.4 and start fresh that way, you can use this installer - http://forums.holdemmanager.com/showthread.php?t=20755

I've been using HEM v1.11.0 for about 3 months on WinXPsp3. I play 16 -18 STTs per day (same stakes, same format). On only 3 occasions out of approx 100, HEM missed the import of 1-3 tournies. I have manually entered the missing tournament results successfully. However, I have not idea why a STT here and there is missed.

Any hints? Or is that just "normal"?

This usually happens when you close the table to fast after you quit the tourney.

Thanks for your reply netsrak. While playing a set of SnGs, it turns out that in this case i let my status in this tourney slip to "sit out" and failed to notice. (i'm such a doofus.)
For some reason, even though I was sitting out, the HHs didn't load to my PC.

Yep, while you sitout the FTP client writes no handhistories.
