I just installed HEM. Works fine when I import hands, but as soon as I open the HUD I get unreal lag on my whole computer. Is there some settings I can use that are less resource intensive? Windows 7.

Which Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate_Release_1.12.10_30Apr2012.exe

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the ex ecutables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe, even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily.

Make sure your video card drivers and windows auto updates are fully updated. Run a manual Windows Update and install all updates, including all .net framework updates./

I followed all those steps, but didn't see any improvement. As soon as launch the HUD I get quite a bit of lag (and insta goes away when I close it). I tried switching the screen scrape methods but didn't do much. Are they any other ways to make it less resource intensive? Is HEM2 better in that department?

HM2 will use even more resources.

When it lags.. check your Windows Task Manager: which program is using a lot of CPU usage.. or RAM?
