Hey guys

I just bought the HM pro version and I'm trying to install it now.
I have downloaded postgreSQL and HM itself.

The thing is I downloaded pokertracker 3 an hour before (as a noob a thought that was free)
Now I have 2 versions of postrgreSQL in a map.

During the HM setup a window pops up saying:

" Hold'em Manager needs to know where to find the database. Please enter the correct details below and click "connect"

Server name: 127.0.0.1 Port number: 5432

Login name: postgres Login password: postgrespass "

On the FTP forum they said it's asking for my postgres password.

I figured I still need to set up postgres which is located on my desktop.
I noticed there are 2 shortcuts for postgres but when I doubleclick them I get an error message.

What should I do now? It's asking to " remove or configure the existing file "

I'm afraid I might delete the wrong postgresfile and I don't want any trouble with it

If you havent uninstalled it yet, you should be able to simply connect HM to the sql installation.

PT3's default name/password is - postgres/dbpass
HM's default name/password is - postgres/postgrespass

If that doesnt help:

1. Go to C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.x\data, move the the pg_hba file to your Desktop and open it with notepad.
2. Scroll to the bottom and change all md5 to trust. Save and close the file
3. Move the file back to the data folder
4. Restart the PostgreSQL service: Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services

HM will accept any password now.

If you find you need to reinstall postgresql completely, use these steps - http://forums.holdemmanager.com/showthread.php?t=20755

A simple reboot of the computer will do the same.

The control panel is a standard item in the windows program menu. Use Google to find more infos.

Meanwhile I have looked for more info on a forum in my native language.
Someone said that the problem could be solved by going to "configuration - user account - eliminate user movements"

I did that and the system asked to restart my computer. When I logged in again HM accepted the password above.

But unless I misunderstood, my laptop is a target for viruses now?
Should I change the username options every time I enter hold'em manager or should I leave it like this?

Can you give some more specific details as to what you did here, exactly?

Why would you say that? I don't think we had suggested anything that would increase your vulnerability. Do you have anti-virus and firewall enabled?
