I just updated to the latest version of PostGre SQL. The old one is still installed however. How do I move my database/HM to use the newest version so I can delete the old one?

If your old version was 8.3 and you just installed 8.4,
you can't just move your database.

8.4 is not compatible with 8.3 to use your old database.
So reconnect to your old 8.3 database and in Database Magement--> export your hands.

(or simply reimport ALL your handhistories into a new 8.4 database)

When you change from 8.x to 8.y--> it's never compatible and you'll have to reimport everything in a new database,.
When you update from 8.4.1--> to 8.4.2---> 8.4.3, etc. you can use the old database.

OK...Once I Delete 82, will HM automatically start using 8.4 when I start a new DB? Do I have to do anything to get it to "detect it"?

Open dbcontrolpanel.exe in the HoldemManager folder.
Make sure the password and port match what you picked during installation.

I dont know what I've done, but HM wont work anymore

When I load it up it says cannot connect ti server 127.0.0.1

After you told me I couldnt just move over to 8.4 easily, I decided not to bother with it, and deleted it from the Add/Remove Programs menu. 8.2 is still installed and I havent touched it. After rebooting my computer, I got the above problem connecting to the server 127.0.0.1. Further reboots / trying to "start service" from the start menu are not helping. What should I do?
