Hello.

I've tried out trials of both PT3 and HEM and like HEM more but there is one important feature I need to know more about before I purchase.
I've been browsing the forums and web but didn't find anything on the matter, so here it goes:

I tend to multitable and go from 10 up to 20 tables sometimes. With PT3 the HUD appears automatically on every table after I turn on auto import but with HEM I haven't found any other option than the drag and drop method which is a pain when many tables are running and constantly popping up in front of each other. I have to be overlooking something right?

Other thing was that the HUD didn't "sense" where I was sitting at the tables but I've got the answer to that using preferred seating I think.

Anyways, thanks in advance.
John

Which sites? Stars/FTP?

http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=29

For the HUD positions:

1) Close HM and the Table Manager.
2) Delete your existing position files, so HM will rebuild them to default.
3) Delete > \Holdem Manager\Config\pospref.txt and pospref2.txt, and pospref4.txt.
4) configure your poker client preferred seating and seating preferences in HM accordingly
5) Setup HUD pre-fetch: http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=29 (if on stars or ftp)
6) open one cash Table and adjust the HUD while observing, and then sit and play at least one hand
7) move the stats with the right mouse key to the correct positions
8) Table manager -> File -> Save positions
9) Now you can open further tables but you will always have to play at least one hand for the stats being moved to the correct positions.

We can't pre-fetch hands from first hands of tourney tables, only cash games.

You need to request and import any/all your tournament histories and import those to HM. Stars does not write the tourney summaries to your hard drive, like FTP does.

Pokerstars > Lobby > Requests > Tournament History .. > 200

Then you have to create a text file, from the email, to import to HM.

I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing here if I understand you correctly.
I don't really mind any delay of hand histories (pre-fetch is about that right?) what I'm looking for is to skip this method: http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=54
I want to know if it's possible to get the HUD on the table automatically or with fewer steps.. This method takes too much time, it's hard to match the table numbers, drag the x to the table and all that before I've lost it behind other tables. It can be done, I know that but it takes too much time and concentration off my game.

Thanks for quick answers though and sorry if I'm being a pain :o

You shouldn't need to use the table finder every time.

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.net/hmbetaupdate

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer (start > computer) and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right-click + Properties the executables and select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab. If you have Vista and the checkboxes are greyed out and you can't select it, please turn UAC on, reboot, and then set the files to run as administrator.

Make sure the hand histories are in English.

Try the table finder - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=54

The table finder, if needed, should 'jump-start' the HDU to find the next tables automatically.

*If that doesn't help, please answer these questions - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=174

Please reproduce the problem and post a screen shot - http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/general/ht/winscreenshot.htm

with the following:

1) The table manager
2) The tables (including one with no stats)
3) The "importing\hud data" folder
4) The ...handhistory\screenname folder.
Please make 3 and 4 the detailed view with the dates and file sizes etc.
