[1.06.03.h] Unable to use non-maximized

This is an odd problem that I've had for a while. I can only use HEM by maximizing it. If I try to make it a window (i.e., RESTORE DOWN) that I can move or use smaller than full screen it minimizes.

Any ideas?

I'm running Vista.

Hi, never seen this problem before. Send you holdemmanager.config file (in your config folder) to support@holdemmanager.net and I should hopefully be able to duplicate

I just upgraded to 1.06.04 beta 9 and rebooted my machine. I am using 2 screens and running Vista. I can only maximize or minimize HM.

I have just completely uninstalled HM and re-installed 1.06.03H from your web site and it is working again. Before reinstalling I noticed bits of the progam still under progarm file - "RVG Software". I renamed this as old. I have just checked and ther is no config file in this old directory. Perhaps that is the problem. I don't undertandd the progarm well enough to know what that file does though. Prior to this problem the last thing I did was install some preferences via:

...so perhaps that screwed it up.
Can you suggest any where we can downlaod preference files? Or is it better just to make our own? There does not appear to be a default option or any standard offerings.

Having re-installed HM 1.06.03h and then installing the beta 9 update, I now have the default preferences that come with HM. Previously I did not, possibly because I had old versions and betas on my machine from months back from the HM early days. So a fresh install fixed the screen maximize\minimize re-size problem.

However, I am still have an unrelated problem with the HUD. It worked for around 20 minutes and then failed to continue updating. The file in the importing folder was not updating, so as a result the stats on the screen remained static. What caused it to stop updating? I was on Ultimate Bet, and playing on just 1 table and I was not aware of stopping any service. My O\S is Vista SP1. I tried restarting the HUD during play but nothing I tried got it going again.

The original problem was caused because you installed a patch instead of the full version, have you confirmed that UAC is disabled otherwise HM will have lots of importing problems http://208.109.95.123/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=73

Yes, I think you are right - I installed the patch before the full version hence the problems and now it is fine. With regards to the HUD problem, I can conifrm that UAC is switched off. I turned it off when I first got Vista 18 months or so ago as it was driving me bonkers. I am still having a problem with the HUD and UB (just 1 table). I tried again tonight and HUD stats just stopped after around 70 hands on this occasion (nothing obvious is stopping it from working - but I can see from the timestamp in RVG Software\holdem manager\importing\HEM data that its has just stopped even though I have left the hand history alone. From trawling through this forum I can see a few UB users have experienced this. As a result I have tried the new HUD as suggested in the main thread that I found with regards to this:

Since trying the new HUD that Mike suggests it does not work at all so I will uodate that particular thread.

I have the same maximize and minimize problem, using Windows XP, same version as thread title, just happened all of a sudden, not when I installed a patch.

This problem can occur if you have 2 monitors and either go back to 1 monitor or change the order of the monitors. HM is actually displaying where it thinks the other monitor is

To fix this close HM and open the holdemmanager.config with notepad

Find:

<setting name="HoldemManagerPosition">Normal,323,230,1365,941</setting>

(yours will be a bit different)

Change the Normal,323,230,1365,941 section to Normal,0,0,500,500

That is telling HM to appear in the top left corner of the main computer screen with a width and height of 500 pixels.

Save the file and then launch HM
