Hi

A fellow of pokerstrategy.fr has a problem with the connexion over a proxy:
He configured ie/firefox/google chrome however HM21 does not connect.

He has made all this:

Open your Internet Explorer and go to Tools / Internet Options / Connections and click on "LAN-Settings" at the bottom.
Uncheck every box in the small new menu and click ok.
Try to register HM again.

If that does not work try to enable the [x] Auto-Detect option and try again.

If neither of those options work please try the following steps for FireFox:

Open your Firefox > Options >Advanced > Network > Connection: Settings
Try [x] No Proxy
Try to register HM again
If that still fails try using [x] Auto-detect proxy
Try to register HM again

Did not work.

What can he do else?

Thanks for your answer and regards

Daniel

A proxy prevents HoldemManager to be able to contact the license server (to verify the license).

He should disable/turn off the proxy settings when he uses HoldemManager.

He can't disable it, as it's necessary to get in the internet....

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate.exe

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe, even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily.

Make sure your video card drivers and windows auto updates are fully updated. Run a manual Windows Update and install all updates, including all .net framework updates.

Which browsers is he using?

If Windows is FULLY updated, (and Internet Explorer is updated to the latest version), temporarily turning off the proxying: just in the Internet Explorer / Firefox settings, should fix this.
