Like the title says, I upgraded to 1.09.03 (from 1.06 I think?) and now HEM hangs on start.

It looks like it's starting ok, and then it just shows up in the task bar (using XP)
and I can't restore it (restore greyed out when right click).

I have verified that the PostGRE service has started and is running correctly.

I can also get to my database fine in PGAdmin.

Help?

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe = 1.10

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab. If you have Vista and the checkboxes are greyed out and you can't select it, please turn UAC on, reboot, and then set the files to run as administrator.
Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Make sure you have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (or later for w7) installed.

Updated to 1.10 beta 4

Running XP, so "run as administrator" and UAC directives invalid.

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 has been installed for quite some time.

3rd party firewall disabled.

Windows Firewall disabled, port and exceptions added just in case.

Still same exact behavior, HEM shows up in taskbar, but won't restore/show up.

Help.

You have XP Service Pack 3 installed?

Can you open dbcontrolpanel.exe in the HoldemManager forum, and try to create a NEW database, and start HoldemManager from the Database Management window?

If your "disabled 3rd party firewall" is Comodo, please uninstall it completely and reboot.

Is it off screen, on a non-existent monitor? Does this help?

Ouch. Yes, that was the problem. I thought that since the "Restore" option was greyed out, that it had to be another issue.

Thanks.
