Just purchased and downloaded HEM. After downloading, tried to open the program but instead it just continued to open and close Internet Explorer over and over again until I rebooted the computer. Tried re-downloading the program and opening with Firefox and Safari but to no avail. What is the problem here and is there any way to fix it?

Here is the SQL installer we recommend if you dont have sql installed yet - http://www.holdemmanager.net/pginstaller

Here is our new 1-click HM installer - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HEManager.exe

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.net/hmbetaupdate

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab. If you have Vista and the checkboxes are greyed out and you can't select it, please turn UAC on, reboot, and then set the files to run as administrator.

If you have any further problems please let us know your browser and which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

ok, I've gotten HEM to open and got to the screen that prompted me for SQL data. I downloaded the PostgreSQL HeM offers, but its telling me I already have a PostgreSQL running and need to uninstall it in order to continue. How do I locate this other PostgreSQL so that I can completely uninstall it and finish setting up HEM, because I didn't know I already had one set up?

Did you have any other Trackerprogram installed like PT3 or Elephant.

You should see a postgresql service running in the windows services (in the control panel-> administration)

If you havent uninstalled it yet, you should be able to simply connect HM to the sql installation.

PT3's default name/password is - postgres/dbpass
HM's default name/password is - postgres/postgrespass

If that doesnt help:

1. Go to C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.x\data, move the the pg_hba file to your Desktop and open it with notepad.
2. Scroll to the bottom and change all md5 to trust. Save and close the file
3. Move the file back to the data folder
4. Restart the PostgreSQL service: Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services

HM will accept any password now.
