Hello,

Ive got like 1 million cash hands from Boss Media in the format "Boss Media_HandsExport_200912031358_cash_00001" (Ive exported them from pokertracker 3), but it seems like its impossible to import them into HoldemManager.

It just says 0 files to import.

What am I doing wrong?

-1 MOVE them to a new directory first

-2 import them again using the Import From Folder.
It could quite some time.. (a few hours)... and it could take at least 5 minutes before the actual import starts.

Nope that doesnt work, I tried copy/paste 6 files over to the new dir and now it import 6 out of 6, but it says no hands (not even any errors or any duplicates).

What is the next solution?

HM does not yet support the format that pt3 exports the boss hands in. If you want us to try to add support Please zip and email the problem hand histories, with a link to this thread, to support@holdemmanager.net

Done, looking forward to you getting back, since I need my old DB with boss hands before I can play there again :)

Vovona33,

One of our Programmers looked at the issue and it's going to take some time to fix this because PT totally jacks the hands on export. If you look at them the bet/call sizes, pot sizes and won amounts are all wrong. It will get fixed eventually, but it might be a while since it's so involved along with it being a PT export issue.

Sorry I couldn't have better news. If we fixed all these little things that require lots of resources to fix right away, we'd fall way behind on other high priority tasks.

-B

Well thats your choice, I will stay with PT3 using boss media, bad news for me....

I just discovered this problem too (although for me, it was Boss HHs exported from PT2 not PT3, but I figure that's the same format / issue). In the .txt file that PT2 exported them to, they all look like the below. I'm trying to make the wholesale transition from PT2/3 over to HEM, but it's kind of a big deal to me if I can't bring all my Boss hands (and there's a lot) over.

Do you think this will ever get addressed? Something I just thought of...instead of baking the code into HEM's import instructions, perhaps it would be easier for one of your programmers to code a quick little .txt converter app that converts the PT-exported Boss hands into a format importable by HEM.

BossMedia Game #1629172280: Table Table TH 661 - $50.00/$100.00 - No Limit Hold'em - 18:00:13 - 2009/06/04
Seat 1: jkk'sship ($2050.00)
Seat 3: Hero ($2500.00)
Seat 4: thecortstr ($2200.00)
Seat 2: dilling89 ($3750.00)
jkk'sship posts the small blind of $50.00
dilling89 posts the big blind of $100.00
thecortstr is the button
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Hero [8d 5h]
Hero folds
thecortstr folds
jkk'sship folds
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot $100.00 | Rake $0.00
jkk'sship won ($0.00), mucks
dilling89 won ($100.00), mucks
Hero won ($0.00), mucks
thecortstr won ($0.00), mucks

Are we any closer to a fix on this issue? I know you've got other big stuff to deal with too, but it's apparent that this is an issue that a lot of people coming over from PT are having...

OK - I'll take this moment to reiterate what I wrote earlier, which is that if it's too much trouble to bake this into the HEM code / import process, you could alternatively release a tiny stand-alone app that simply converts the "bastardized" PT-exported Boss HHs to HEM-friendly format.

We're just talking about a .txt to .txt conversion here...a competent programmer should be able to do this in a few hours. I emailed a sample of my PT-exported HHs back in late January.

Just a thought.
