Hi,

I recently had a popup error that mentioned "player aliases".
Since that error thatere is a lot of data missing from HM and only my most recent screen name has any hand histories.

Do you know what the problem could be? I play on iPoker.

TIA

Can you be more specific about what is missing and from what tabs? Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

The 'Player Alias' option is to connect 2 different poker site names together, under a new, unique Alias name. Before you can create an alias you want to be sure you can find your various site names. If you only play 1 site there is no need for an alias. http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=35

The 'Hero Names' option is to help the HUD know where you are sitting at the table.

Cash Games > Reports > Click 'Change' and search your Poker Site name. Do not click the drop-down arrow. That opens a list of previously searched names.

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab. If you have Vista and the checkboxes are greyed out and you can't select it, please turn UAC on, reboot, and then set the files to run as administrator.

Basically all information about my previous iPoker screen names has disappeared from HM. I had an alias set up to cover all of my iPoker screen names and that is no longer available either.

Also there are many hands missing from other players, as my eyepoker coverage has gone from 75% to 25%. It's like a huge chunk of data in the DB is being ignored. And this is since the error that mentioned player aliases popped up.

I use:

Vista Ultimate
Windows Firewall
AntiVir

*Try creating a new UTF DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=146
*Now import a small portion of your \HMArchive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=173
*If the new DB seems to work properly, you will want to import the rest of your archives to the new DB, export/import the hands from the old DB to the new DB, and export/import any player notes and tourney summaries - and then delete the old DB. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=21

Make sure you export/backup everything before deleting the old DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20754

I've found another problem.

All my player notes are missing.

The notes are part of the actual DB and need to be exportedas a means of backup, in case you ever need to import them later. If the original DB was lost somehow the notes would be gone also.

Follow this general FAQ about vacuuming your DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=163

When you get to step 3 do not do the maintenance portion:

3) You then need to expand the database folder ........

How many DB's do you see there and what are their names?

I see 4.

HoldemManager (The original)
HoldemManager2 ( The new one I just created and imported to)
PT3 (an old Pokertracker 3 DB)
postgres

Seems that your old database was damaged somehow. If you have no backup you will need to reimport all hands and you can try to export notes etc. from the old database.

In my new DB that Ive imported to, on the reports tab of Cash Games, no hands display underneath my stats.

When I select the different radio buttons 'last 100' etc I get an error: Unhandled exception; object reference not set to an instance of and object.

I am not sure what to suggest other than a clean install of Postgresql, and probably a clean reinstall of HM using Revo Uninstaller, at this point.

If you want to try that:
