Hi,

I just installed windows 7 32 bit and am running the latest version of HEM and Postgres 8.4. Everything was working fine until today. I just got done importing 3 million hands and not I get this error. I have HEM and Postgres listed as exceptions so firewall stuff should not be an issue. Any ideas?

could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "127.0.0.1" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?

edit: saw and am going through the sticky now.

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

First try to reboot.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

If that doesnt help delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Please try following all of these FAQs, step by step:

1) http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=34
2) reinstall the same version of postgresql, using the same \data folder - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=177
3) http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8261

If that doesn't help you will probably have to reinstall PostgreSQL completely and reimport your hands using these instructions - http://forums.holdemmanager.com/showthread.php?t=20755

I did everything on the list with no luck.

6. Now you need to copy some files from your new data directory to your old one.
Go to your newly created data directory and copy the following files:
pg_hba.conf
pg_ident.conf
PG_VERSION
postgresql.conf
and postmaster.opts
DO NOT COPY postmaster.pids

Go to your data_original folder and paste these files. They should already exist in that folder, so make sure you overwrite the exisiting ones. Also, delete the postmaster.pids file that should be in your data_original folder.

did not know how to do this though
