View Full Version : Holdem Manager will not start

I have been successfully running Holdem Manager for several months. Today, when I attempt to start the program, the "egg-timer" on the cursor appears for a few seconds and stops and Holdem Manager does not run. Holdem Manager does appear on the list of running programs and uses 99% of my cpu running time, slowing the whole computer down. Every time I click to run the program, a new entry for Holdem Manager appears on the Task Manager.

I have tried:

Turning off all firewalls
Uninstalling all anti virus software
Reinstalling HE using Revo uninstaller
Updating to latest beta version
Checking many threads on the forum

None of this has helped - does anyone have any ideas?

Edit: I am running Windows XP

Is XP updated to SP3? Which firewall and anti-virus?

Try to reinstall Microsoft .NET Framework:

1) Download and run this unisntaller - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip
2) Install this one: http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/0/e/20e90413-712f-438c-988e-fdaa79a8ac3d/dotnetfx35.exe

I have now reinstalled .Net Framework (with some difficulty!) and the problem still exists. I have also now just reinstalled Posgres and this did not help either.

Firewall is Windows and antivirus is Avira. The problem still exists when Avira is uninstalled and Firewall is turned off.

Any other ideas?
