Hi,

I can't seem to get HEM working on W7 32bit

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I had PostgreSQL 8.3 installed before, so I used the Revo Uninstaller to remove it after that downloaded and installed PostgreSQL 8.4 (http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/pginstaller.exe)

Installed HEM (http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/holdemmanager.zip)
Set DBControlPanel.exe, HMHud.exe and HoldemManager.exe to run this program as an adminstrator. UAC was disabled before.

I can run DBControlPanel and connect with the database, but I just can't start Holdem Manager. I have Avira AntiVirus and Comodo firewall installed. Both have been disabled but made no difference.

Have I missed out on something? Any help?

Thanks!

Try uninstallingAvira AntiVirus and Comodo completely.
Add exceptions to Windows Defender.
Add port :5432 to Windows Firewall exceptions... and

Reinstall Microsoft .NET Framework:

1) Download and run this uninstaller - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip
2) Install this one: http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/0/e/20e90413-712f-438c-988e-fdaa79a8ac3d/dotnetfx35.exe

Still not working! :(

I've tried installing .net 3.5 SP1, but it doesn't install as .net 3.5 is built into Windows 7.

I've updated to the latest beta too, but I'm guessing there's some conflict with the .net version pre-installed in Win7.

Comodo is problematic for a lot of users.
