Hi guys,

I've been in hospital a couple of days and when I came back I started my computer which kind of went into bluescreen after getting through the starting and logon routine.

When I restarted it everything worked fine besides second logon service which was switched back to manual and psql as well.

I could restart the second logon service but the psql server simply won't start any more. It says that it didn't react in time and that's it. No way I can connect to my database anymore.

Does anyone how to fix that or where I can check what kind of problem happened during the first boot where I got the bluescreen?

I use Win 7 with all newest updates and psql 8.4.1. Use KIS 2010 as well but everything worked fine so far by changing the needed apps into trustworthy.

Check this thread for Kaspersky specific fixes - http://forums.holdemmanager.com/showthread.php?t=21610

Try to delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Please try following all of these FAQs, step by step:

1) http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=34
2) reinstall the same version of postgresql, using the same \data folder - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=177
3) http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8261

If that doesn't help you will probably have to reinstall PostgreSQL completely and reimport your hands using these instructions - http://forums.holdemmanager.com/showthread.php?t=20755
