HEM started hanging on start up 1 week ago.(cannot connect to database) As suggested on this forum i started the db manually and all was fine.

However last night that didnt work

I use 1.9.02. I downloaded the patch and ran it

Several error boxes came up is sequence saying cannot replace file ........ rvg software....deployLX.licensing.v3.dll and 4 other files.

I uninstalled HEM, downloaded the full install and i now get a .net error box on start up.

Cannot load file or assembly ´HEMGUI, version 1.0.9.71´.............. HRESULT:0x80131040.

Reinstalling HM never helps DB connection problems. The errors during update were because HM didn't shut down properly before you updated. This can be cured by simply rebooting and running the updated again, as soon as you reboot.

HELP

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab. If you have Vista and the checkboxes are greyed out and you can't select it, please turn UAC on, reboot, and then set the files to run as administrator.

Make sure you have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (or later for w7) installed.

If you still get the error, reinstall HM using these directions - http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20816

If that doesnt help and you are on xp/vista you may want to try to reinstall dotnet 3.5:

Reinstall Microsoft .NET Framework:

1) Download and run this unisntaller - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip
2) Install this one: http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/0/e/20e90413-712f-438c-988e-fdaa79a8ac3d/dotnetfx35.exe
