Can HEM support please use a more standardized method for releasing updates? Using the forum which is filled with bumps and old posts and 55 page responses to release updates leaves zero coherency to the update process. Coupled with the fact that every update is simply titled "HmBetaUpdate.exe", how can we ever know if we are getting the right version?

Please just keep the latest version listed on the HOME PAGE, which the version release date mentioned, along with when it was released. I'm not a programmer and cant tell the difference between two forum posts which say 1.09.03 and 1.09 beta 43. This means nothing to me, how do I know which is later than the other?

A simple homepage update which says "Update 12/02/09 - Version 1.09.04" would let EVERYONE know what and where to get the latest version. Using a forum for this is bad practice.

At the top of every forum page:

Notices
The current install version is 1.09. The installer and latest update patch can be found here - http://forums.holdemmanager.com/showthread.php?t=20705l. If you have questions about purchasing or receiving your code, please email sales@holdemmanager.net. If you need to contact support via email, instead of the forums, please email support@holdemmanager.net.

The title of that thread: 1.09.03 (http://forums.holdemmanager.com/showthread.php?t=20705)

It is always the only unlocked thread in the Releases forum (http://forums.holdemmanager.com/forumdisplay.php?f=11), directly under the first 3 stickied threads. One of those stickies says to not make new threads in that forum (I deleted your moderated thread you made there).

Ah ok, the latest update will always be the only unlocked thread. Does this also mean that new releases are given a new thread? Roy would never simply post a reply to his own thread with a new version would he?

Thanks for the help, and sorry for posting in the wrong forum.

Yes, other than the stickies. 2 of the 3 current stickies are unlocked, but Roy always updates the thread title and posts in the thread for each beta release. There is also usually a Release Info Thread: for the beta versions as he releases them. I imagine he will make another one when he releases 1.10 Beta 1.
