Using recent HHs?

If my HHs of a certain player span over 2 years, how do I make sure that the stats for players are from say the past 3 months or the past 5k hands?

Since most players change their style of play over time, I am assuming the more recent stats would be more important. Thanks.

Thanks. Does anyone have recommended number of months for this? I was thinking along the lines of 3 months?
