I am in a wierd situation. My desktop crashed that I was using HEM on, my roomate uses the other code. I bought a new laptop and want to get HEM on here so I entered in the registration code after instaling HEM, and it says that I have to deactivate the other computer before I can activate my new one...the problem is the computer that I have HEM that needs to be deactivated completely crashe, and wont even turn on, so there is no way to deactivate it. What do I do?

Please try using our registration system to register your current/new license. Then you will be able to retrieve or reset your own license, as needed. http://www.holdemmanager.net/Registration/

To get your current license from your running installation of HEM: Help > Show Serial Number

You will need to sign up, login, and then change your code, then logout/login, to verify it was reset.

thanks for that, that worked fine. I am having another problem now. Ive had this laptop for a few months and used the trial version of hem on here, so postgresql was already downloaded along with hem. I just activated my hem to this computer, but when i open up hem, it says a connection could not be made to PostgreSQL. Any suggestions?

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue.

First try to reboot.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

If that doesnt help delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Please try following all of these FAQs, step by step:

1) http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=34
2) reinstall the same version of postgresql, using the same \data folder - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=177
3) http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8261

If that doesn't help you will probably have to reinstall PostgreSQL completely and reimport your hands using these instructions - http://forums.holdemmanager.com/showthread.php?t=20755
